The Lilac Inn is located in Titusville, Illinois. It and Josiah Crowley's house, which was next door, were built by two brothers in the Civil War, and there is a tunnel that connects them. The building was established as a hotel in 1908 and is run by Gloria Crandall who lives there with her daugher, Emily.
Secret of the Old Clock
In 1930, a month after Gloria dies and Emily is left trying to hold onto the inn, the kitchen explodes. When everyone is distracted by it, Gloria's jewels go missing. Nancy investigates and finds out that Emily's guardian, Jane, isn't Jane at all, and was an impostor who stole the jewels and blew up the kitchen. Nancy also finds Josiah Crowley's real will, which leaves Emily enough money to keep the inn.
