Lois Manson was born on August 12, 1917 in Trenton, New Jersey. She started appearing in theater performances when she was four, and by the time she was 16, she had moved to Hollywood, where she caught the attention of Z. B. Collingwood in 1935 and was cast as the lead Nefertiti in his film, Pharaoh.
Collingwood recorded that Lois was a terrible actress, but he was so enamored with her that he wanted to make sure the world would remember her for something other than her acting skills.
Unfortunately, Lois met her end on set while being fatally bitten by a snake that was thought to be non-poisonous while filming on January 4, 1937. The film quickly wrapped and the set, along with the footage of Lois's death and Nefertiti's Jewel of Karnak, which was in the film, was bullozed over. The circumstances surrounding her death and the film itself remained a mystery for years, and it seemed that Collingwood may have arranged for Lois to be murdered.
However, in 2008, when the remake of Pharaoh is being filmed, Nancy Drew discovers the old set and the lost footage, in which Lois simply gets up and walks out of sight, without saying a word. Nancy surmises that her death was faked because she must have been some kind of government agent.
Depending on which ending the player gets in Lights, Camera, Curses!, Lois either walks out of the scene, or first opens her bracelet to take out the Jewel of Karnak and hide it in a corner, which Nancy then goes back and finds.
