The Bandit's Treasure is a play written by Lizzie Applegate in 1880. The song itself is a clue to where she hid the Christmas Gold inside The Golden Gardenia. Nancy must play the tune on the piano in the basement.
Nancy can sing the title song in Shadow Ranch. The second verse comes almost directly from the book The Message in the Haunted Mansion, which inspired the PC game. The song is sung to the tune of "Oh, Susanna".
