Tex Britten is the head wrangler at Shadow Ranch in Arizona. His sister, Jane Nash, used to work for the Rawleys before they owned the ranch, but she was fired.

The Secret of Shadow Ranch
A gruff, intimidating man, Tex nevertheless cares deeply about horses and only allows Nancy to ride one after perfectly navigating a small slalom course, mastering the use of a lariat, and passing a quiz. He instructs her to feed the horses properly and take good care of her horse Bob on pain of being thrown out of the ranch if she doesn't.
